Plasmonic Cavity Formation by Circular and Spiral Corrugations

چکیده
Metal surfaces with sub-wavelength structures form a plasmon polariton-like surface mode, i.e., spoof-plasmon. The spoof-plasmon on corrugated disk propagates radially and is reflected at the edge, resulting in formation of plasmonic cavity. With concentric circular corrugation, excited spoof-plasmons an axisymmetric spiral have non-zero orbital angular momenta non-axisymmetric Spoof-plasmons consisting cavity transfer their to radiation waves via hollow waveguide by conserving topological charges.

In this work, a new plasmonic bulls-eye structure is introduced to efficiently harvest the emitted light from diamond nitrogen vacancy (NV) centers. We show that the presence of a simple metal sub-layer underneath of a conventional bulls-eye antenna, separated by a dielectric layer, results in the spontaneous emission enhancement and increment in out-coupled light intensity. High Purcell factor...
متن کاملParametric analysis of a broadband Archimedean spiral antenna with cavity
In this article an Archimedean spiral antenna is designed and analyzed that has good operation in broadband application. By analyzing this design, the effects that different parameters have on antenna operation will be studied and ways of optimization will be found. Influences of cavity height and number of turns to obtain good matching and gain in a frequency interval of 4 to 18 GHz will be d...
متن کاملPlasmonic coaxial waveguide-cavity devices.
We theoretically investigate three-dimensional plasmonic waveguide-cavity structures, built by side-coupling stub resonators that consist of plasmonic coaxial waveguides of finite length, to a plasmonic coaxial waveguide. The resonators are terminated either in a short or an open circuit. We show that the properties of these waveguide-cavity systems can be accurately described using a single-mo...
متن کاملSpiral Waves in Circular and Spherical Geometries
In this thesis we prove the existence of m-armed spiral wave solutions for the complex Ginzburg-Landau equation in the circular and spherical geometries. Instead of applying the shooting method in the literature, we establish a functional approach and generalize the known results of existence for rigidly-rotating spiral waves. Moreover, we prove the existence of two new patterns: frozen spirals...
متن کاملCavity-free plasmonic nanolasing enabled by dispersionless stopped light
When light is brought to a standstill, its interaction with gain media increases dramatically due to a singularity in the density of optical states. Concurrently, stopped light engenders an inherent and cavity-free feedback mechanism, similar in effect to the feedback that has been demonstrated and exploited in large-scale disordered media and random lasers. Here we study the spatial, temporal ...
